Where to Find the Best Squarespace Plugins for Your Website

Squarespace is powerful straight out of the box.

But if you want your website to feel elevated, dynamic and tailored to your business, plugins are where things get interesting.

I use plugins regularly in client builds. Not to overcomplicate things. Not to add unnecessary bells and whistles. But to enhance functionality, improve user experience, and make a site feel truly custom.

Here are the best places to find high-quality Squarespace plugins that I genuinely use and trust.

Will Myers

https://www.will-myers.com/

If you work in the Squarespace world long enough, you will come across Will Myers.

His plugins are clean, reliable and thoughtfully built. But what really sets him apart is the education that comes with them.

My favourites:

  • Mega Menu Plugin - Perfect for larger websites that need more structured navigation.

  • Tabs Plugin - Ideal for organising content in a way that feels streamlined and user-friendly.

I’m also part of his Code Curious Membership, which includes an excellent Chrome extension. One feature I love is RoboWill, an AI-powered chat tool that generates custom code for specific design tweaks. It saves a huge amount of time when refining a site.

Every plugin comes with clear video walkthroughs and step-by-step written instructions.

If you want powerful customisation without hiring a developer for every small tweak, this is a great place to start.

Ghost Plugins

https://www.ghostplugins.com/

Ghost Plugins offers a mix of free and paid Squarespace plugins, which makes it accessible if you are experimenting with custom functionality.

One plugin I’ve used is the Taydio Image Changer. It’s a really effective way to display layered content or interactive visuals. It’s subtle but impactful when used well.

Their range allows you to enhance visual storytelling without overcomplicating your build.

SQS Mods

https://www.sqsmods.com/

If you want to introduce movement and interaction to your site, SQS Mods is worth exploring.

Two plugins I’ve used:

  • Zoomify Plugin - Great for product or detail-focused imagery.

  • Text Reveal on Scroll - Adds subtle animation as users move through a page, making the experience feel more dynamic and less static.

Used strategically, these effects elevate a website without making it feel gimmicky.

Elfsight

https://elfsight.com/

Elfsight offers a huge range of widgets that integrate easily with Squarespace.

The one I use most often is the Google Reviews Widget. This pulls reviews directly from your Google Business Profile into your website automatically.

For service-based businesses, this is powerful. It builds trust instantly and keeps testimonials up to date without manual uploads.

If social proof matters in your sales process, this is an easy win.

Squarewebsites

https://www.squarewebsites.org/

This is a fantastic resource if you need enhanced functionality beyond what Squarespace offers natively.

Plugins I’ve used:

  • Universal Filter Plugin - Allows filtering across blog posts, resources, case studies and more. Ideal for content-heavy sites.

  • Interactive Map Plugin - Lets you display multiple business locations within one map block. Perfect for multi-location businesses.

These types of tools are especially useful for established businesses with growing content libraries or regional presence.

Squarewebsites plugins are advanced and designed with Squarespace designers in mind, which means they can be complicated to set up compared to others on this list. With that said, the functionality on offer is powerful!

SEOSpace

https://www.seospace.co/

If you care about visibility as much as design, SEOSpace is a fantastic tool for Squarespace SEO.

While Squarespace has built-in SEO settings, SEOSpace takes things further by helping you structure and optimise content more strategically.

I use it for:

  • SEO audits

  • Keyword targeting guidance

  • On-page optimisation improvements

It is especially useful for business owners who want clarity on what to optimise and why, rather than guessing their way through metadata fields.

For established businesses investing in growth, SEO should not be an afterthought. Tools like SEOSpace help ensure your website is not just visually strong but also discoverable.

When combined with a strategic website structure, proper keyword mapping and conversion-focused content, it becomes a powerful foundation for long-term traffic.

A Strategic Note on Squarespace Plugins

Just because you can add a plugin does not mean you should.

The best Squarespace websites are not overloaded with features. They are:

  • Strategically structured

  • Easy to navigate

  • Designed around conversion

Plugins should enhance the experience, not distract from it.

When I build custom Squarespace websites for clients, every plugin decision is intentional. It supports user experience, brand positioning or lead generation.

If your website feels limited by default functionality, there are excellent tools available. But if you are unsure what to add or how to implement them properly, that is where strategic design makes the difference.

If you’re looking to upgrade your Squarespace website with smarter functionality, improved structure and stronger conversion performance, you can explore my Squarespace Website Design services or get in touch to discuss your project.
