    Sometimes website design can include website development where the actual build of the design is implemented and made functional.

  • Website design costs vary significantly depending upon the project scope, CMS, location, and who is delivering the work i.e is it a freelancer, in-house team, or agency? Website designers can charge £500 to upwards of tens of thousands of pounds.

  • My website design turnaround time is fast at just 2 weeks. I work on one project at a time which allows to deep focus and work 1-on-1 with you.

  • A website template is a pre-built design which you can purchase, upload to your CMS, and add your own brand identity with colours, fonts, images, and copy. Templates can save time creating layouts, however they can be limiting.

  • Yes, you have complete control and access over your Squarespace website. I don’t hold it to ransom. You can make any changes after our project is finished and handed over. Alternatively, I have a Squarespace Support service if you want me to update it.

  • Yes, if you’d like to migrate your site from another CMS, like WordPress, I’ll be able to help. Squarespace is a much easier, user-friendly option than many other website builders out there.

  • Yes! Managing cash flow is important for a business. If you need a payment plan, please mention this during our discovery call. Otherwise, the payment will follow the standard invoicing process - a 50% non-refundable deposit before work begins and the remaining 50% after the site has launched. There is a 0% interest fee for payment plans currently.

  • You will need to have a Squarespace subscription plan in order for your new website to go live and a domain name. These start from £17 per month (not inc. VAT) if paid annually.

    Domain names start from £16 (not inc. VAT) per year with Squarespace. Squarespace website subscription plans start from

    Depending on your requirements, you may need to purchase plugins from a third-party such as Elfsight or use additional Squarespace features. These can vary in price. I will let you know beforehand if you need to purchase them.

 Squarespace Support FAQs

  • Website support is the task of maintaining your website by ensuring everything is up-to-date, secure, and fresh. My Squarespace website support helps business keep their website content fresh and up-to-date, as well as help fix any issues. Some examples of how I can help are uploading regular blog posts, integrating new plugins, or updating images or copy.

  • I don’t offer Squarespace support packages or retainers as I invoice depending on what you need to be completed - no matter how big or small, so you don’t have to feel pressured into buying an unwanted package or committing to a monthly retainer which might go unused.

  • Yes! I’m happy to help provide website support regardless of whether you created your website yourself or hired another website designer.

  • I charge £30 per hour for Squarepace support services. I know how long each task should take to complete and will quote you a price beforehand.

    If it takes me longer than anticipated, I will not invoice you more than originally quoted. I want to deliver the best customer service.

 Squarespace SEO FAQs

  • SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. It's the process of researching, planning, and changing your website so it ranks higher on search engines, such as Google.

  • SEO is important for businesses as it increases website traffic without paying for ads. By appearing on the 1st page of Google, it makes people more aware of your business and services. Overall, this increases business revenue.

  • This Squarespace SEO service is completed in 3 days.

  • No, my Squarespace SEO package is included within my custom website design service. For more information see my custom Squarespace website design service.

  • Expect 2-3 months until you start seeing the SEO results. This does depend upon how competitive your industry is and may take longer. You’ll need to also regularly update your website with SEO blog posts to see the most benefit.

  • Yes! I’m happy to help regardless of whether you created your website yourself or hired another website designer.

  • A website audit is an overall analysis of your website. It tells what your website's strengths are and areas of improvement. My website audits cover SEO, content, and user-experience design to ensure your website set up for success and is conversion rate optimised.

  • A website audit is necessary if you are looking to improve your current website performance or want to redesign your website. A website audit will highlight your website's strengths and weaknesses, and provide areas of improvement. This can then inform your decisions when redesigning the website to ensure it is set up for success and is conversion rate optimised.

  • My website audit looks at your website holistically and with any particular goals or issues that you may have experienced in mind. My website audits may cover SEO, content, and user-experience design. I use a variety of tools to back up my findings with data. This will be delivered to you in a video and PDF.

  • After a website audit, you can choose to complete the areas of improvement yourself and monitor results, or I can complete them for you at an additional rate.

General Squarespace FAQs

  • Squarespace is an online website building software and CMS (content management system). It allows users to design and build websites easily with it's drag and drop functionality.

  • Squarespace offers a range of plans suitable for many different businesses. Squarespace plans start from £12 per month (paid annually). However, most businesses are better suited for the 'Business' plan which allows you to have advanced analytics, a professional email from Google, and complete customisation with CSS and Javascript. The Business plan starts from £17 per month (paid annually).

  • Yes, Squarespace can host your domain. Simply, purchase your new domain through the Squarespace site. Alternatively, you can transfer your existing domain, bought from a different provider such as GoDaddy, to Squarespace.

  • Squarespace and WordPress are both great CMSs in their own ways. It's down to personal preference and what functions you need from your website. Personally, I prefer Squarespace for its simplicity, ease of management, drag-and-drop functionality, and amazing built-in features.   • Yes, websites built using Squarespace are secure. Domains added to your Squarespace site are protected with a free SSL certificate. This is the HTTPS at the beginning of the URL.

  • Yes, Squarespace sites are mobile-friendly. This means it adapts to screens and devices of various sizes ensuring the website remains engaging and user-friendly. Whilst designing your site on Squarespace, you can view a mobile version of your website, which allows you to make amendments or resize elements to ensure it looks great.

  • Squarespace allows you to add SEO by inputting keywords in the page title, description, and URL. As well as optimising onsite content with keywords in structured headings through H1, H2, H3, H4 and body tags. Keywords can also be added to image alt text.

    Squarespace is automatically protected by an SSL certificate and is mobile optimised, something that Google prioritises when deciding on rank factor.

    Squarespace allows you to easily connect to Google Search Console and submit your sitemap. This gets your website indexed on the Google search engine and start ranking.

  • Yes, Squarespace sites are great for SEO and ranking on search engines like Google. This is because Squarespace sites have loads of opportunities to implement target keywords, are automatically SSL certificate protected, and mobile-friendly.

    The only downside to Squarespace sites is that they naturally have a slower page speed. Despite best efforts in optimising page speed, this is unavoidable by default due to the foundation of Squarespace CMS.
